🏫 How to create a class, add students, and share login instructions with them?

Create a Class

To learn how to create a class, you can either watch a video tutorial or read a step-by-step guide.

Option #1: Watch Video Tutorial

Option #2: Read Step by Step Guide

To create a class, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Classes by clicking on β€œMy Classes” on the left-hand side of your dashboard.

  2. Click β€œ+ Add New Class.”

  3. Enter the class name and grade. Then click "Add Class" to create your class.


Add students to your class

To learn how to add students to your class, you can either watch a video tutorial or read a step-by-step guide.

To add students to your class, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the class where you want to add students.

  2. Navigate to the "Students" tab.

  3. Click on "Add Students."

  4. There are two ways to add students:

    1. Option 1: One Student

      Allows you to add one student at a time.

    2. Option 2: Multiple Students

      Allows you to add multiple students at a time.

    Choose your preferred option.

  5. Let's say you selected the "One Student" option to add students to your class. Here's what you need to know-

    1. Enter the student's name (real name not required) and username. The Username is how the student will access their unique seat in the Class. Make sure that each student's username is unique within the class.

    2. Click "Add Student" to add the student to the class. Once you've added the student, it will appear in the "Students" tab.

  6. Let's say you selected the "Multiple Students" option to add students to your class. Here's what you need to know-

    1. Click "here" to download the "Multiple students CSV template."

    2. Once the template is downloaded, open the template to add student names in Column A and usernames in column B. Make sure that each student's username is unique within the class. The Username is how the student will access their unique seat in the Class.

    3. Save the template as a CSV file.

    4. Drag and drop your file and click on "Add Students."

    5. Once students are added, they will appear in the "Students" tab.


Share login instructions with students.

Once you've added your students, they can log in to your class using the username you set up in the previous step.

To share login instructions with your students,

  1. Click on the "Share Login Instructions" button.

  2. Copy the instructions in the prompt.

  3. Share the instructions with students using your preferred LMS.

    (The below screenshot shows how you might share instructions using Google Classroom.)

  4. Distribute student usernames individually.

  5. Students go to the class login page and enter their username to join the class.
